Three panes for warmth, comfort and calmer rooms

Triple glazing adds a third pane and a second cavity to a Snug window or door, which is worth considering when the aim is higher thermal comfort, especially on large areas of glass, north-facing rooms, new builds and extensions with a demanding energy brief. The extra pane also helps take the edge off outside noise, so it can suit bedrooms and street-facing living spaces as well as homes that simply want to hold heat for longer. It is a specification, not an automatic upgrade: on many British houses a well-specified double-glazed Snug unit is the right balance of weight, cost and performance, and a Snug adviser will say so. Where triple glazing is the better fit, it is built into the same British-made uPVC or aluminium frames, with hardware and seals designed around the unit, and installed by nationwide approved installers. Security and low maintenance stay part of the product, and the windows and doors carry a 10-year guarantee. If you are comparing triple glazing with double glazing for a replacement or a new opening, bring the room, the orientation and the glass area into the conversation. We will specify the right build-up in a free, no-obligation quote.
